Rich Neon Cosmetics!

Photobucket

Rich neon colors are in this year compared to last year's highlighter shades. It's a great way to spruce up your not-so-new clothing! These colors look great with a white or grey shirt, or even a simple black dress! Anyone can sport these shades, just don't over do it! If you are wearing a bright lipstick shade, go with a more bare eye. For eyes I suggest using shadow to line the eyes so that your whole lid isn't bright neon. Nails are the best way to wear this trend and a little less scary for most! You can pick up many different neon shades at your local drugstore > and for cheap! Brands such as Sally Hansen, Milani, NYC Color, Wet 'n' Wild.......they actually work just as good as the more expensive brands!

Too short tank tops?

I recently started cleaning out my tank top/t-shirt drawer to make more space. As I was going through my many-years-old tops, I realized how much I still loved them! The main problem with them however, they are now too short on me! I decided to still get rid of some, but keep the ones that I loved. My solution to the too short problem? Belt it! Put on a high waisted skirt so that the top won't appear too short, and belt it! To save money, purchase a neutral color skirt, such as black or denim, that will match many different tops!!!

Laws of the Universe

Photobucket

I thought I should share this because it's so cute!

 Laws of the Universe:

   1.  I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

        2.  Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

        3.  I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

        4.  There is great need for a sarcasm font.

        5.  How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

        6.  Was learning cursive really necessary?

        7.  Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

        8.  Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

        9.  I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

        10.  Bad decisions make good stories.

        11.  You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

        12.  Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

        13.  I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

        14.  "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

        15.  I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't      answer? Drop the phone and run away?

        16.  I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

        17.  I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

        18.  I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

        19.  I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than K.

        20.  I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

        21.  Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

        22.  I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

        23.  The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

        24.  I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

        25.  How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

        26.  I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent an ass from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

        27.  Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

        28.  There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

        29. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

        30.  Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my behind everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Get healthy with honey!

Over the past few years, my allergies have become insane during the Spring! Through some tips from friends and a little research, I have found that honey is quite more beneficial than just as a sweetener!

Honey helps allergies by acting similar to a vaccine. The trick is to buy local raw honey. The closer the better but, even if it is a few hours away from where you live, it'll do. It makes total sense too! Bees work with the nectar of the flowers in your area in order to make honey. Thus, exposing you of allergens when you ingest the honey. Your body then starts to become immune to the allergens where you live. So interesting! The best way is to take a big spoonful and swallow it! And another fun fact-honey has many natural antioxidant properties. Feel yourself getting sick or have a sore throat? Take a spoonful and hopefully you will start feeling better! Honey has been used as an at home remedy for centuries in many cultures!

Avocado Toast

I love this! I ripped it off from a French bistro I've been to a few times, but I changed it up a little.

1-Toast a piece of wheat or multi-grain bread.

2-Mash up one half of an avocado in a bowl.

3-Add two squeezes of lemon to the avocado and mix in.

4-Spread on toast.

5-Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes on top.

6-And then the secret ingredient: Drizzle some honey on top!

This mixture is unexpected but soooo delicious! I love having it for breakfast!

Gooey nail polish? Make it new!

We all have bottles of nail polish that are old and gunky lying around. My helpful tip: put a splash of nail polish remover in the bottle and shake, shake, shake! You will have good as new nail polish!

Why you should be obsessed with coconut water

Photobucket

http://www.knowledgebase-script.com/demo/article-320.html

I surely am! Visit this article to learn the health benefits of coconut water. There are some interesting facts in there!

I am lucky to live near a few areas that sell the fresh young Thai coconuts. You should be able to find them at your local farmer's market or any Chinatown areas. For those of you that are not conveniently located to these, there is the very popular option of Zico and Vita Coco that you can pick up at most grocery and convenient stores. They are delicious as well! Opening a fresh coconut can be a bit tricky though. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1 - Use a medium sized knife to cut away the white covering on the top of the young Thai coconut. Lay the coconut on its side. Work in a sawing motion from the base of the point, towards the point on the top of the coconut. Continue to cut away the white outer covering until the hard inner shell is exposed.

Step 2 - Keep the coconut on its side. Hold the base of the coconut with your free hand, keeping your fingers clear of the area you will be chopping on.

Step 3 - Hack at the exposed part of the coconut with a cleaver or large flat bladed knife. Continue to hack until there is a large enough crack to pry open the coconut with the knife.

Step 4 - You can then pop a straw in and yumyumyum, enjoy!

*If the hole is large enough for a spoon, you can get in there and scrape out the fresh coconut meat! It's delicious by itself but also good for cooking! Or you can even dry it out and use it in baking!

Jalapeno Margaritas!

Here's my personal recipe to enjoy in the warm weather!

Pour some white tequila in a separate container (I usually use an empty 12-24 oz. water bottle).

Then cut up 1 or 2 (depending on how daring you are) jalapenos into slices and put them in the bottle. Leave seeds in, unless you are worried about too much heat, in this case remove them. Let sit for at least an hour in the tequila. The longer the better though!

Rim your glass with kosher salt and add a few ice cubes.

2 parts jalapeño tequila

1 part fresh lime juice (or 100% lime juice you can find in a bottle at store)

3/4 parts triple sec

And voilà! Deliciouso!!!!!!!

Spring cleaning time is here! Tired of your clothing and looking to get rid of it? Have a gathering with the gals and swap out your clothing and accessories for something semi-new! (You know we all want something a friend has!) What's left over you can donate to your local thrift store for a good cause. Cocktails are usually essential to these gatherings!!!
